Demonstration trial in Denmark for annual narrow row crop established
A demonstration trial with winter wheat has been established with six different strategies. The trial is laid out in wide stripes with a standard strategy in the middle as a control. The chosen strategies include direct drilling, delayed sowing and differentiated herbicide treatments. Mechanical weeding is planned in some strategies hence the row spacing is wider.
The establishment in the autumn 2017 was impeded by extremely wet conditions, which made the initially planned strategies impossible to follow exactly. Three sowing dates were planned, but only two were carried out. Standard herbicide spraying with prosulfocarb, pendimethalin and diflufenican was carried out despite late sowing and very limited weed emergence.
